Antigone
By Sophocles Directed by Kristen Tomanocy
Antigone makes a choice to bury her brother, even after her king declares it to be a crime against the state to do so. Blatantly refusing to follow the laws of Creon, the new king of the city of Thebes, Antigone knows she will die for the decision she makes. What follows is an intimate, grueling look at the morality of humanity as a whole. What can we do when our government fails us and there are no options to enact change? And will Antigone’s act achieve change even when it costs her the ultimate price?
